Grooming Memory Privacy Policy

Grooming Memory is a local-first grooming record app for independent groomers and small shops. The current build does not require an account and does not sync customer records or photos to a Grooming Memory server.
Information the app stores
Information entered or selected by the user may include:
- Pet-owner names, phone numbers, contact notes and related owner details.
- Pet names, species, breed, weight, behaviour warnings, allergy or product warnings and notes.
- Grooming blueprints, completed-visit details, dates, historical prices, notes, corrections and ownership changes.
- Profile, reference, before, after and incident photos selected by the user.
- Language preferences and technical metadata required to keep the database and backups internally consistent.
Storage and transfer
The canonical database and app-owned images are kept in persistent application storage supplied by the operating system. The V1 scope has no online account or cloud sync.
Records or photos leave app storage only when the user chooses a share, export or backup action. The operating-system share sheet and a selected Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email or other destination may apply its own privacy policy.
Photos, camera and library access
The app opens the camera or photo library only after a user action. Received images are validated, processed within configured bounds and copied into app-owned storage. The core feature does not need photo GPS location metadata.
Backup and restore
The user can create one external ZIP backup containing the canonical records and actual app-owned image bytes, with a versioned manifest and per-file hashes. The app reads the staged package back before it reports a successful export.
Restore validates app identity, schema, paths, counts, size limits, attachment completeness and hashes before replacing current data. Invalid input must leave current data unchanged.
Important: deleting the app removes data inside its sandbox. Before deleting the app or changing devices, export a current ZIP and verify that it exists in Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or another location you control.
Analytics, advertising and networking
As of this policy date, the app has no Firebase, advertising or analytics SDK configured and does not upload customer content, photos or backup payloads to analytics services. If an SDK is added later, this policy and Store declarations must be updated to match the real behaviour before release.
Lifetime purchase
Lifetime is prepared as a one-time purchase, but the app is not yet available for public download or Production Store purchasing. When released, Apple App Store or Google Play will process the payment and the app will display the Store-provided price and currency. Store entitlement remains separate from the shop-data backup, and restoring business data does not copy a purchase across accounts or Stores.
Retention and user control
On-device data remains according to app use, inactive-list and correction workflows, and the operating-system lifecycle. Completed facts and their correction chain are retained to avoid silently rewriting history. A user can place a pet in the recoverable inactive list, or explicitly confirm permanent anonymisation. Permanent anonymisation removes the owner and pet names, phone number, safety notes, drafts, cancelled visits and related photos while retaining non-identifying completed dates, service details, prices and correction history.
