Why toppings can change the cup cost
A bubble tea recipe may use several small portions that are easy to overlook. Treat each direct ingredient as its own line: tea concentrate, milk or creamer, brown sugar or syrup, tapioca pearls, jelly, popping boba, fruit, ice, and packaging.
A practical boba costing checklist
- Measure the recipe portion for pearls and toppings rather than using the whole package cost.
- Use a compatible package and usage unit. For example, compare grams with grams or milliliters with milliliters.
- Add cup, lid, straw, and other direct packaging costs for one serving.
- Run a second scenario when a topping portion or selling price changes, and compare the result before saving a menu decision.
Boba drink cost = tea and milk portions + pearls and toppings + direct packaging costs
What the calculator does not assume
The calculator does not guess waste, labor, rent, tax, delivery commission, or exchange-rate conversions. Add a direct per-drink amount only when it is appropriate for the check you are making.
